Surface area: 32,594 m2

OBJECTIVE: To formalize the Tomás Giménez and Primavera Street throughfare that serves as a nexus between the neighbourhoods of Pubilla Cases and la Florida, making it the new backbone of public space that joins the city’s northern districts. The project had to be in keeping with the plans currently being drafted for Primavera Street and Catalunya Avenue.

STRATEGY: The proposed intervention necessarily had to revolve around a central aspect: improving the connectivity between Tomàs Giménez and Primavera avenues. Firstly it was essential to improve the area’s physical accessibility, with particular attention to the conditions for crossing Isabel la Catòlica Avenue and the restructuring of Plaça Iberia, where traffic congestion is most serious and hinders the free circulation of pedestrians.

ENERGY SAVING: The lighting has been carried out with LED technology implying a major saving in both electricity consumption and maintenance. A centrally controlled Samcla watering system is installed, which stops watering when it rains. Local vegetation is used, which is suited to our weather conditions.
